It supplies critical glass substrates for advanced displays like thin-film-transistor liquid crystal displays (TFT-LCDs) and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). AGC also produces a wide array of specialized components, including synthetic fused silica and quartz crystals, silicon carbide, CMP slurry, through-glass vias, high refractive index glass, DOE diffusers, glass ceramics substrates, optical planar devices, IR cut filters, various aspherical and molded lenses (such as micro lens arrays and fly-eye/condenser lenses), polycarbonate and optical sheets, thin films, glass frits, paste, and semiconductor packaging substrates. Furthermore, AGC develops cover glass for smartphones and tablets, glass substrates for photovoltaic devices and touch panels, specialty glasses (including extra clear float glass and transparent conductive oxide glass for a-Si solar modules), and ultra-thin glass for electronic devices. AGC's chemical business offers chlor-alkali, polyurethanes, fluoro, and other specialty chemical products. Within ceramics, their offerings span high thermal insulation walls for furnaces, ceramic beads, sputtering targets, abrasion-resistant ceramics, alumina cement, engineered fine ceramics, and ceramic molding agents for 3D printers. Additionally, AGC engages in other ventures such as digital signage on glass, copper-clad laminates, plastic optical fibers, gas and solvents, and the life science sector.
