This segment also provides comprehensive wealth management strategies and highly customized solutions, such as specialty asset management. The Global Banking segment supports corporate and institutional clients with extensive lending products, from commercial loans, leases, and commitment facilities to trade finance, commercial real estate, and asset-based lending. It further furnishes treasury solutions like cash management, foreign exchange, short-term investing options, and merchant services, in addition to working capital management. Key capital markets activities include debt and equity underwriting and distribution, along with merger-related and other strategic advisory services. Within its Global Markets segment, Bank of America facilitates market-making, financing, and securities clearing, settlement, and custody. It also develops sophisticated risk management products, leveraging instruments such as interest rate, equity, credit, currency, and commodity derivatives, foreign exchange, fixed-income, and mortgage-related products. By December 31, 2021, the company's substantial reach included approximately 67 million consumer and small business clients.
