The company is structured into two primary operational segments: Data, Digital & Energy Transition (DDE), and Sensing & Monitoring (SMO). The DDE segment focuses on developing, licensing, and processing Earth data seismic surveys, alongside imaging seismic data. It also markets seismic data processing software under its Geovation brand, delivers expert geoscience and petroleum engineering consulting, and is involved in collecting, developing, and licensing geological data. The SMO segment is responsible for the design, engineering, and manufacturing of critical seismic equipment used for both land and marine data acquisition. This includes producing seismic recording devices, associated software, and seismic sources for terrestrial vibrators or marine applications, as well as general sensing and monitoring equipment and solutions. These products are sold under well-known brands such as Sercel, Metrolog, GRC, DeRegt, and Geocomp. Furthermore, this segment provides essential customer support services, including training. Originally established in 1931 and formerly known as CGG, the company officially rebranded to Viridien in May 2024. Viridien maintains its headquarters in Massy, France.
