Beyond its primary rail services, the company provides various other transportation solutions, including freight and bus operations. Its comprehensive service offerings extend to travel agency functions, warehousing, aerial cableway management, and parking facilities. JR East also offers financial services, telecommunications, IT data solutions, casualty insurance, and specialized agency services such as dry cleaning. Furthermore, its scope includes advertising, publication, automotive maintenance, hospitality management (encompassing hotels and restaurants), civil engineering, general construction, facility development, and electricity supply. Through its robust retail segment, JR East sells a broad assortment of products. This ranges from prepaid vouchers and memberships for sports and leisure clubs (including golf and tennis) to consumables like oil, gas, and automotive accessories. The retail arm also provides travel merchandise, groceries, drinks, spirits, medications, beauty products, and household staples. The real estate division actively manages property sales, leasing, administration, and brokerage. In manufacturing, the company produces equipment for transportation, precision and industrial tools, and signage. It is also involved in the production of beverages, spirits, construction aggregates, masonry products, concrete posts, and blocks, as well as the processing and distribution of marine products.
