About iShares Core International Aggregate Bond ETF

IAGG provides broad exposure to investment-grade bonds from developed and emerging market issuers excluding the US. The portfolios non-USD-denominated securities mitigates exposure to fluctuations between the value of the component currencies and the USD by hedging out foreign currency risk to the USD. It competes directly with Vanguards hugely popular BNDX, which tracks a nearly identical index. The portfolio provides exposure to fixed-rate sovereign, government-related, corporate, and securitized bonds. The Index is market-value-weighted with a 10% cap on each issuer and undergoes monthly updates. The Index sells forward the total value of the underlying non-USD currencies at a one-month forward rate to hedge against fluctuations in the relative value of the non-USD component currencies in relation to the USD. The hedge is reset on a monthly basis.
