Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited is an Indian enterprise primarily involved in the generation of electricity and the production of cement. The company sources its power from both hydroelectric and thermal energy facilities. Complementing its power operations, Jaiprakash Power Ventures also runs the Jaypee Nigri cement grinding unit, located in Nigrie, Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, and manages a coal mine in Amelia, Madhya Pradesh. The company, which was incorporated in 1994 and is headquartered in New Delhi, India, changed its name from Jaiprakash Hydro-Power Limited to its present form in December 2009.
