About Kid Brands, Inc.

Kid Brands, Inc., in collaboration with its subsidiaries, was engaged in the development, procurement, promotion, and worldwide distribution of merchandise tailored for infants and young children. Their extensive product range included a variety of nursery essentials: from infant bedding and decorative elements such—as blankets, rugs, mobiles, nightlights, hampers, lamps, and wall art—to practical nursery appliances, diaper bags, and spa/bath accessories. These items were marketed under popular brand names including Kids Line, Carter's, Disney, CoCaLo Baby, CoCaLo Couture, and CoCaLo Naturals. Additionally, the company supplied a selection of nursery furniture, encompassing cribs, mattresses, and other furnishings, offered under brands like BabiItalia, Europa Baby, Bonavita, Graco, and Serta. Kid Brands also provided developmental toys, feeding solutions, baby care products, and various types of baby gear, all designed to cater to the different stages of an infant's early growth. Key brands in this category included Sassy, Carter's, Disney, Garanimals, and Kokopax. Many of their products were also sold under licensing agreements with well-known brands such as Carter's, Disney, Graco, and Serta. The company's distribution network reached retail customers both domestically in the United States and internationally. Sales were conducted via their own dedicated sales force, as well as through independent representatives and distributors. Their clientele comprised a broad spectrum of retailers, including large mass merchandisers, specialized baby superstores, department stores, and boutique shops. Established in 1963 and based in Rutherford, New Jersey, the firm was formerly known as Russ Berrie and Company, Inc., changing its name to Kid Brands, Inc. in September 2009. Unfortunately, on June 18, 2014, Kid Brands, Inc. and its affiliates initiated voluntary reorganization proceedings by filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.
