Furthermore, MOL operates car carriers for automobiles and construction machinery, containerships for general cargo, and ferries along with coastal RoRo ships for regional transportation needs. Beyond its core shipping activities, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines manages container terminals and advanced offshore facilities, notably floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) and floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) systems. The company also provides a comprehensive suite of logistics services, which includes international air and ocean freight forwarding, domestic trucking, customs clearance, warehousing, inspection, specialized transport for heavyweight and oversized cargo, and buyers' consolidation. MOL's strategic interests extend to a broad spectrum of ancillary and ocean shipping-related businesses. These encompass tugboat operations, land transportation, maritime consulting, travel services, commercial property leasing and management, financial services, trading, insurance, information and communication technology (ICT) systems, temporary staffing, support for oil stockpile projects, production of nautical charts, and various other ventures. As of March 31, 2021, MOL's impressive fleet comprised 268 dry bulkers; 280 tankers, LNG carriers, and steaming coal carriers; 60 containerships; a single cruise ship; 170 product transport vessels; and two additional vessels. Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. was established in 1884 and maintains its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.
