The Medical Care Solutions segment addresses general healthcare and patient care needs. Its product range encompasses essential medical consumables like syringes, various infusion and syringe pumps, infusion lines, IV solutions, and peritoneal dialysis fluids. Specialized products for pain management, nutritious food products, and adhesion barriers are also available. For home healthcare and personal monitoring, this segment offers blood glucose monitoring systems, disposable needles for pen-injectors, insulin patch pumps, blood pressure monitors, and digital thermometers. Additionally, it provides contract manufacturing services to pharmaceutical companies for prefilled syringes and other drug delivery devices used in drug kits. Finally, the Blood and Cell Technologies segment is dedicated to advancing blood collection, processing, and cell therapy. Founded in 1921, the company was originally known as Sekisen Ken-onki Corporation, before officially changing its name to Terumo Corporation in October 1974.
