TotalEnergies SE is a globally operating integrated energy firm, conducting its extensive operations through four principal divisions: Integrated Gas, Renewables & Power; Exploration & Production; Refining & Chemicals; and Marketing & Services. The Integrated Gas, Renewables & Power division encompasses the entire liquefied natural gas (LNG) value chain, from production and transport to trading and regasification. It also actively trades various commodities like liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petcoke, sulfur, natural gas, and electricity. This segment is responsible for the transmission of natural gas and the generation of electricity using diverse sources, including natural gas, wind, solar, hydroelectric power, and biogas. Furthermore, it manages energy storage solutions, develops and operates biomethane production facilities, and delivers energy efficiency consulting. The Exploration & Production segment is dedicated to the discovery and extraction of crude oil and natural gas reserves. Within the Refining & Chemicals segment, the company processes petrochemicals, such as olefins and aromatics, and manufactures various polymer derivatives, including polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and hydrocarbon resins. Its activities extend to biomass conversion and the processing of elastomers. Additionally, this segment handles the global trading and maritime transport of crude oil and refined petroleum products. The Marketing & Services division focuses on the manufacturing and distribution of lubricants. It is also responsible for supplying and marketing a wide array of petroleum products, such as bulk fuel, aviation and marine fuels, specialized fluids, compressed natural gas (CNG), LPG, and bitumen, while offering fuel payment services. This segment manages an extensive network, comprising roughly 16,000 service stations and 25,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging points. As of December 31, 2021, TotalEnergies SE reported combined proved oil and gas reserves totaling 12,062 million barrels of oil equivalent (Mboe). The company has forged strategic alliances with PureCycle Technologies, Plastic Energy, Freepoint Eco-Systems, and Plastic Omnium to advance various development initiatives. Founded in 1924 and headquartered in Courbevoie, France, the entity officially adopted the name TotalEnergies SE in June 2021, having previously been known as TOTAL SE.
