The company's business is structured into two primary segments: Severstal Resources and Severstal Russian Steel. It is involved in the extraction and processing of a wide range of raw materials essential for steel production. This includes various iron ore products like pellets (both fluxed and unfluxed) and concentrates, crushed stones, and specialized materials such as ferrite strontium powder. Severstal also mines different types of coal, including coking and steam coal, along with hard coking coal concentrates. Beyond raw materials, Severstal's extensive product portfolio encompasses a diverse array of finished and semi-finished steel goods. These range from flat and long-rolled products, including hot-rolled, cold-rolled, galvanized, and color-coated steel, to pipes specifically designed for oil and gas pipelines. The company also produces a multitude of specialized steel products such as cold-drawn steel, various steel shapes, railway fasteners, low and high-carbon wires (including ropes and strands), nails, steel fiber products, steel meshes, and carbonyl iron powders. These products serve critical applications in sectors like automotive and construction. In addition to its core manufacturing, Severstal provides a range of supporting services. These include repair and construction, air transport, the recycling of ferrous scrap metal, steel machining, and comprehensive shipping and handling logistics. The company caters to a broad spectrum of industrial clients, spanning industries such as construction, service processing, oil and gas, energy, machinery, and automotive. Founded in 1955, Public Joint Stock Company Severstal is headquartered in Moscow, Russia. The company adopted its current name in December 2014, having previously been known as Open Joint-Stock Company Severstal.
